The most recent activities of the Committee
have been made possible by support received from several sponsors who are
gratefully acknowledged
Some
national committees for International Geoscience Programme standardly have their
own budgets, even though these budgets are usually very modest. Since 1996 one
of the aims of the Czech National Committee for IGCP is therefore to provide a
support service for members of the Czech IGCP working groups who may have
limited or no financial sources. These contributions help to organization of
local IGCP meetings, conferences and workshops, as well as cover the travel
expenses of the active members (lectures at international conferences). Simply
said, this activity aims to support these IGCP members who significantly
contribute to the credit of the Czech geosciences on the international
platform. The yearly competitions for such local grants have been organized for
more than last 10 years, and it corresponds to about 80 partial contributions
with an average amount of 10,000 CZK. This effort is successfully continued due
to sponsorship by several companies and organizations. We would like to thank
them all for their continuing support and sponsorship, both in the past and at
the present time.

narodni komitety pro mezinarodni geovedni programy maji svuj, i kdyz casto
nevelky rozpocet. Jiz od roku 1996 je snahou ceskeho komitetu financne pomahat
jednotlivym pracovnim skupinam pri organizovani narodnich pracovnich setkani a
dale alespon castecne prispivat pracovnikum IGCP projektu na jejich cestovni
vydaje spjate s prezentaci vedeckych vysledku na mezinarodnich zasedanich.
Jednoduse receno mit moznost udelat neco pro ty, kteri pomahaji nemalou merou k
sireni vehlasu ceske geologie na mezinarodnim foru. V poslednich 10 letech jsme
diky darum nekolika spolecnosti mohli vypisovat souteze a pridelit celkem temer
80 grantu o prumerne vysi 10,000 Kc. Vsem soucasnym i minulym sponzorum za to
patri nas velky dik.)
